A video from January 3, 2024, is currently going viral from the Zillertal Ski Arena in Austria, where numerous people were ignoring signs that the black run to the valley was closed. Warm temperatures had melted the snow down low in the valley, transforming the black run to the bottom of the gondola into an ice chute.
The consequences of ignoring the signs can be seen in the viral video, shared by user Merle3000 on social media platform TikTok. In the beginning of the video, an unidentified man is shooting down on his bottom with his skis tumbling down next to him, screaming in agony. According to user Merle3000 who was hiking down on the grass beside the piste, there were several broken bones as people hurtled down unable to stop.
