EVO PRESS RELEASE:

WELCOME TO THE COLLECTIVE, INGRID BACKSTROM
One of skiing’s most influential athletes reconnects with her Northwest roots.

SEATTLE, WA: Leading action sports retailer, evo, is pleased to announce that Ingrid Backstrom has joined the evo Collective, a multitalented group of individuals who represent evo’s brand and core values. Ingrid joins Chris Benchetler, Collin Collins, Eric Pollard, Andy Mahre, Tim McChesney, Austin Smith, Kimmy Fasani and other talented individuals as part of the evo Collective.

“I am really excited to be joining the awesome team at evo.  I’ve been a huge fan of evo’s approach for a long time and evo’s stores have always been among my favorite places to shop because of their selection of the freshest and best clothes and gear.  The most awesome thing is that evo is Northwest-based, owned and run by skiers and snowboarders who get after it – friends of mine who I always see on the mountains and trails.” – Ingrid Backstrom

Ingrid’s influence runs deep. From her first step onto the scene in the early 2000’s and an appearance in MSP’s Yearbook in 2005, Ingrid has been a force to be reckoned with, winning female skier of the year each year since then. A recent article in the Seattle Times asserts that “Ingrid Backstrom is the most successful female big-mountain skier ever.”

Although she will continue filming and traveling the world in search of pow, Ingrid has brought her life a bit closer to home in recent years. She now lives in Leavenworth, and can often be spotted ripping around Crystal Mountain, where she grew up. As a Crystal Mountain freeride coach and “Chief of Stoke,” Ingrid has taken on a new passion: sharing her love of the mountains with others. Spreading her knowledge of backcountry safety to the growing number of women adventuring out of bounds is also a driving force in her decision to spend more time locally.

Ingrid’s Northwest roots and warm, engaging personality, in combination with her dedication and passion for skiing, teaching and sharing make her a perfect fit at evo. Her sponsors include The North FaceVolklTecnica and Giro. Shop her collection here>

evo is proud to join that list and couldn’t be more excited to have her on board!
