Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY, just experienced its coldest March temperature ever recorded, meteorologist Alan Smith writes for Buckrail. The temperature was also the coldest recorded this winter.

The mercury dropped to -14ºF at the 10,400ft summit yesterday, surpassing the -13ºF recorded in March 2002. Records go back to 1975.

Several other daily low-temperature records were broken yesterday too; -12ºF at Rendezvous Bowl, -11ºF at the Raymer Plot, -8ºF at Mid-Mountain, and -8ºF at the base.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort received 28″ of fresh snow in the last five days.

  1. Wellsville UT (near Logan and 100 mi south of JHMR) has sinkholes that insanely cold air collects in. I think -45F still air temp has been recorded there.
