the skiing starts at 2:00

Myself and my friend Tom Ashley had been looking at this line from town for a week or so and decided to go and check it out on June 5th. We are both ski instructors at JH and passionate skiers. We rode the tram up with our touring setups for we were planning on exploring once out of bounds.
After reaching the top of the tram we threw our boots on and skied to the base of the Cody hike. We proceeded to summit Cody peak with plans to ski Four Shadows if Once is Enough wasn’t ski-able. After reaching the summit we hiked over to Once and at first glance we weren’t sure if there was a place to drop in. After scouting further we realized we could make it in.
We hiked into the chute from the side and skied the perfect corn snow. Once at the bottom we skinned up the back side of powder 8, skied powder 8 and then skinned back to the tram.
It was a really fun day and there were several other lines that we scouted out that we might try and ski this week.
(editor’s note: Yes you can ski and ride from the Jackson Hole tram during the summer. Check out Matt’s youtube page for more Jackson fun: Matt Lombardo youtube videos)
