Jay Peak Resort in Vermont has experimented with snow farming this year. The resort has stockpiled tons of leftover snow and covered it with hay but this move is not to preserve snow for the next season but rather to put on a fun Summer Solstice Festival with a small park in the middle of summer. Summer Solstice this year falls on June 20, 2024, and the Vermont resort will celebrate the longest day of the year two days later on June 22 with a fun festival from noon to 11:00 p.m.

Jay Peak Parks has collected snow adjacent to the Stateside Carpet and covered it up with hay to conserve enough snow so they can push out and build a small park. The small park will be serviced by the Stateside moving carpet during the festival. Aside from the small park on snow, there will be live music, skateboarding, and other fun activities awaiting visitors.
