Have you always wanted to ski with a World Cup athlete in a fabulous location? Here is your chance: Travis Ganong will be the ‘Athlete in Residence’ at Hotel Mondschein in beautiful Stuben am Arlberg in Austria. Travis explored the area last year and enjoyed the incredible terrain and wonderful hospitality at the Hotel Mondschein so much that he decided to come back for two weeks in January to offer a special ski touring pack in the Arlberg region.
The Arlberg area is one of the snowiest regions in Europe. Stuben am Arlberg offers direct lift access to the Arlberg Ski Area without the crowds you would get in St. Anton, Lech, or Zรผrs. The combined ski area offers 302 kilometers (189 miles) of groomed runs serviced by 85 lifts and gondolas, making it Austria’s largest ski area. In addition to on-piste skiing, there is 200 kilometers (125 miles) of backcountry skiing. The ski touring opportunities are endless, and if you are inclined, there is heliskiing, which is very rare in the Alps. So, irrespective of whether you like on-piste, side-country, backcountry, or aprรจs skiing, you are sure to get your fill at Arlberg Ski Area.
Pack your powder skis and touring gear and join Olympian Travis Ganong this coming winter for a fantastic week of ski touring from Stuben am Arlberg. Stuben is located about 90 minutes from Innsbruck airport or 2 hours 15 minutes from Zurich airport in Switzerland and gives direct access to Albona, one of the best off-piste powder ski areas in the Alps.
