Friday was our last day in Mammoth Lakes, CA for the season.

The snowpack is still at 500% of average for today’s date in Mammoth and the mountain is still skiing so well…

We skied fresh corduroy at Mammoth in the morning, hit the road by 9am, jumped in a cold spring with tame fish on the way out, stopped at the creepy Clown Motel, revered in the Tonopah Cemetary, drove 580-miles across the Great Basin Desert, then paddle boarded and swam in Jordanelle Reservoir in Park City, UT.

We skied 75-days in a row while in Mammoth for 2.5 months

21 backcountry days and 56 resort days at Mammoth Mountain.

This was the most time I’ve spent at any one place for over 10-years.

This was one of the best trips of my life.

So many friends came through and skied with us.

We completed our “Eastern Sierra Blackjack Project” – 21 new-to-us ski mountaineering lines in the record snowpack of 2023.

I got in my D-Spin 720º (always very scary for me).

We skied a ton of park.

We river surfed 8 times.

We swam in a plethora of lakes and rivers.

We spent a lot of time recovering…

We camped the last 4 nights with some of the best views in the Sierra.

Overall, it was an unreal experience with outstanding people in spectacular terrain.
