Given how much snow Mammoth Mountain receives, it is always to be determined when the Bike Park will open. Last year, after a historic snowfall year that saw 705 inches at the base area, it didn’t open until June 30. The upper mountain, which recorded 885 inches, didn’t open until August.
This year, mountain bikers in the Eastern Sierra will be able to enjoy the trails starting on Friday, May 24, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. The plan is to be open May 24-27 and then daily starting May 31.
The timing of the opening will allow visitors to both ski and mountain bike in the same day as skiing operations are set to continue until May 27.ย
The Mammoth Bike Park has 53 trails covering over 80 miles with a vertical drop of 3,100 feet.ย
