With almost 15 feet of snow and the second snowiest December on record, the entire mountain is open and conditions are prime mountain-wide for shredders of all ability levels. Whether you are into steeps, glades, or the terrain park there is something for everyone to enjoy. Get ready to find yourself in the fun because the stoke is contagious and the turns have been seriously gratifying.

It seems as though Mother Nature is setting us up for a long, fun season as we start the new year off with a bang. Between thrilling events, creative terrain park setups, and gorgeous weather, the season continues to be one for the books.

  1. Interesting that Mammoth is viewed as a SoCal resort when it is due east of San Jose. It is an easy 4.5 hour drive from Sacramento…less time than from Riverside, the bottom of the funnel for 2/3 of CA population. Weekdays are OK. Weekend lines have always been for patient folks. Even though there are a lot of Dodger fans there, everyone should visit Mammoth for incredible variety of terrain, inspiring vistas, and fantastic late-season skiing.

  2. Mammoth is one of the few areas left where you can hide away from the Bay Area trash. Don’t talk about it. Keep it quiet.
