Spring skiing at Mammoth.

Brought to you by Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth Mountain, CA announced today that it will remain open through AT LEAST Memorial Day, following a fresh round of March storms that has the snowpack in excellent shape (current base depth: 10 feet at the summit).

2021 is shaping up to be the year of spring skiing and Mammoth has long been the epicenter of North America’s ski scene this time of year. Spring skiing in the Eastern Sierra is tailor-made for the realities of COVID:

  • Shorter/ non-existent lift lines
  • More availability – no sold-out dates
  • Discounts on lodging and F&B
  • Warmer temps! Especially important with lodges closed

2021-22 Ikon Pass holders (including those who deferred their 20-21 passes) can also use them THIS YEAR at Mammoth, starting April 12.

But most importantly, the quality of the skiing/riding is fantastic (it’s why the USSA teams train here every year). If you’d like to come to check it out for yourself we’d love to host you.

  1. I think “2021-22 Ikon Pass holders (including those who deferred their 20-21 passes) can also use them THIS YEAR at Mammoth, starting April 12. ” is not correct, unless they’ve made changes. I’ve heard that if you deferred, you can’t use next year’s pass until April 19. and if you use current season’s pass between April 12 and 18, you are jeopardizing your deferral credit.

    1. I’d like to get clarity on this as well….I have a trip planned to start skiing Mammoth on April 12. Would be great, but I am about to officially defer my pass and would like to get confirmation. I don’t see anything in the Ikon deferral verbiage about being able to use it this season after April 11.
