MT. BAKER OPENING DETAILS:

It’s an absolutely stunning day on the mountain – clear and cold, and expected to continue for OPENING DAY TOMORROW!

The groomers are packing down the cat tracks and main runs, the patrollers are just about done setting up rope lines and signage, the lift crew has fired up the lifts and we will be ready to kick off the 2013-14 season tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. We will be operating BOTH THE WHITE SALMON AND HEATHER MEADOWS BASE AREAS with all 8 chair lifts and all three day lodges open, and MAIN RUNS ONLY open. Lift tickets will be discounted Thursday.

Please note there is EARLY SEASON SNOW COVERAGE and you need to ski and ride with extra caution because there are sudden terrain changes and features, rocks, sticks, stumps, sudden drop-offs and patches of thin coverage around the ski area. The bottom of Chair 5 area has very low snow conditions so go slow and use extra caution in that area.

The steeps will be CLOSED and closed areas will be strongly enforced with fines per RCW 79a.45.070.Mt. Baker ski area
