Mt. Rose, Nevada, may have just hinted at an early opening day. They just posted an array of photos on their social media accounts, showing the impressive progress their snowblowers have made. Last season, it opened on November 11, which is just five days away from now.

We’ve been able to put in 50 hours of snowmaking since Friday, which brings us ever so close to our goal of being able to open from top-to-bottom. How close, you say? Check out the mainside mountain webcams for a live view. Stay tuned; we will update you on our opening day plans soon.”

Mt. Rose has a base elevation of 8,260′, making it the highest base in the Tahoe Region. With no major storms impacting the Tahoe region thus far and nothing major on the horizon until potentially the second half of November, it gives Mt. Rose a huge advantage over the other resorts in the race to open up due to their ability to blow snow because of the colder temps at their high base.
