Mt. Ruapehu, Whakapapa Report – August 12th, 2015
The weather forecast was promising a great day so I decided to check outย Whakapapa and it was more than great.ย
Due to snow being blown by the wind there were still some unridden off-piste runs by the side of West Ridge Chair andย Far West T-Bar. Besides good powder you had to watch out for some ice patches with frozen chicken heads.
In the afternoon i decided to hike up to the summit. With the sun shining on my back on the way up andย with the spectacular view of Mt. Ngauruhoe on the way down, it was one of those days, when you fall in love with Mt.Ruapehu.
