A new Guinness World Record has been set in the ski industry.  Hermann Koch and Herald Brenter set the record for the greatest vertical distance on a ski bob/snow bike in 24 hours (team of two) in Obertauern, Salzburg. They accumulated 208,786 ft. in 24 hours– a feat of motivation and teamwork.

Guinness World Record reports,

“They only had a one-and-a-half-hour sleep break and Hermann just ate gummy bears and jelly beans throughout the entire day!”

Quite impressive, and this isn’t their first Guinness World Record either.  Koch and Brenter hold the previous vertical distance on a ski bob from 2007.  Hermann also holds Guinness World Records for fastest 1km backwards on a snow bob and the most 360’s on a snow bob in one minute.

They reached 107,000 ft in 11 hours in 2007. This year they absolutely crushed their previous record.  After an exhausting 24 hours and twice as many miles, they were presented their record certificate.

One thing I know for sure, I need to try one of these things.
