NOAA: Snow for Tahoe Today Thru Friday

Lake Tahoe has no ski resorts currently open, but they’re gonna get some snow today and tomorrow.

It’s not going to be a lot of snow.  Likely about 1-3″ of snow above 6,000-feet.

A low pressure system over the Pacific northwest will drop southward today then into Northern California tonight and early Thursday. A few showers or thunderstorms will be possible today with thunderstorms more likely on Thursday as the low pressure system drops into the north state. Showers at the higher elevations could bring several inches of snowfall from about interstate 80 southward. A winter weather advisory is in place for Thursday over the Sierra south of U.S-50. Breezy north winds are likely over the northern Sacramento valley Thursday.” – NOAA Sacramento

Spring storm to bring much colder temperature with rain and snow showers this week. Gusty winds up to 30 mph on Wednesday with rain and snow showers starting as early as Wednesday night and lasting through Friday morning. Snow levels are expected to be around 6000 feet possibly impacting travel over Sierra passes Thursday and Friday.” – NOAA Reno
