NOAA: Winter Weather Advisory Today for the Front Range, CO | Up to 14″ Forecast in 24 hours

NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory today for the Front Range of Colorado that is calling for up to 14″ of snow in 24 hours beginning today at noon.ย  This advisory includes the currently open ski resorts of Loveland & Arapahoe Basin.

An ongoing Winter Storm Watch that is forecasting up to 20″ of snow continues for nearly all of the rest of the mountains of Colorado today and tomorrow (see map below) as well.

NOAA is forecasting up 14″ of snow for upper elevations of Loveland and Arapahoe Basin ski areas between noon today and noon tomorrow.

NOAA isn’t even mentioning snow levels, so we assume they’re low.

  AFTERNOON WITH A FEW LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. HIGHEST AMOUNTS

  OF SNOW.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF ACCUMULATING SNOW AND WIND WILL
  MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT. POOR VISIBILITIES FROM SNOW AND FOG
  WILL EXIST OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES.
