NOAA’s Official Early Winter 2015/16 Outlook for the USA: Nov, Dec, Jan

NOAA just release their early winter outlook for the USA yesterday.  They released temperature and precipitation maps for this coming November, December, and January.  These maps continue to show an El Nino pattern with a warm and dry pacific northwest and a wet southwest.

PRECIPITATION FORECAST:

NOAA’s November, December, January precipitation outlook is showing above average precipitation in the SoCal, Arizona, New Mexico, southern Utah, Colorado and southern Alaska.  Below average precipitation forecast in the pacific northwest, Idaho, and Montana.

TEMPERATURE FORECAST:

NOAA’s November, December, January temperature outlook is showing below average temperatures in New Mexico and the south central USA.  Below average temperatures are forecast in pacific northwest, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, the northeast, and all of Alaska.

From the information provided here, it looks like New Mexico is the place to be this winter since they are forecast to have above average precipitation and below average temperatures.  Southwest Colorado also looks to be a good spot to be with above average precipitation forecast over the entire region.  SoCal and Flagstaff, AZ are wild cards here that are both forecast to see above average precipitation as well this winter.
