It’s officially spring! The long, warm days and California sunshine mean one thing to the savvy spring skier: The early bird gets the worm.

At Palisades Tahoe, California, this means that operations will be amended from April 29 onwards. Operating hours will be reduced to having lifts spinning at the resort from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. starting on Monday, April 29.

Other changes going forward are:

  • Sunday, April 28 is closing day for Alpine. Alpine is closing so maintenance teams can get through their summer projects after Alpine stayed open until July 4 last season.
  • At Palisades, Resort Chair and Red Dog will close on April 28 as well.

After This Weekend:

  • Starting Monday, April 29, Palisades will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • KT-22 will stay open for as long as possible. With the current state of the snowpack, the resort hopes it will make it through the week of the 29th. Grooming of the lower portion of the Saddle has stopped due to the thin snowpack and mountain ops are doing daily maintenance to keep CII Ridge open.
  • Once lower elevations begin to melt out, Palisades will operate just the upper mountain in order to maintain fun skiing through the end of the season.

Palisades’ Closing Day is scheduled for May 27, Memorial Day, weather and conditions permitting.
