Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado, started spinning the Paradise Express lift for the season at on Saturday, bringing open terrain to 230 acres. Additional trails opened on Saturday include Paradise Bowl, Upper Canaan, Lower Forest Queen and Lower Ruby Chief. Paradise comes on the heels of the opening of Teocalli Chairlift, which began spinning for guests on Tuesday, 11/28.
These terrain openings have been bolstered by recent snowfallโnearly 17 inches of snow fell over the weekendโbringing the season-to-date snow total to 72 inches. Thanks to Mother Natureโs handiwork, along with the dedication of its snowmaking team and the efficiency of its brand-new air compressors, Mountain Operations team members anticipate more terrain openings in the near future.
Now that Paradise Express is open for the season, guests can also take a break and refuel at Paradise Warming House. Located at the base of Paradise Express, Paradise Warming House has all your classic ski lodge eats, from burgers to soups and chili, in addition to a full bar. The resort plans to introduce all-new pho-inspired noodle bowls later this winter for a lighter experience that’s still comforting on a cold day.
