Powder Mountain will host its first ever Lightning Ridge Relay on Saturday, February 10th from 9 am to 1 pm. The event will feature a skin up to its famous Lightning Ridge, a race through gates down Weber Bowl, and a return to the Lightning Ridge cat pick-up, where teams of three will pass the baton. Team uniforms are encouraged, according to the resort.

Limited to 100 participants, registration is online-only and costs $60 per team. Each team must consist of either three skiers or three snowboarders.

Cash prizes of $600 per category and K2 gear are at stake. Participants must show proof of a valid day pass or season pass at bib pick-up. Helmets are mandatory.

Rules include no skin skiing, completion of all gates, and no physical contact with competitors. Violations result in disqualification.

The event will take place at the Lightning Ridge Pick-Up Shack. Bib pick-up is at Lucky Slice at the Sundown Lodge. The schedule includes a rider meeting at 10:15 am and the race from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a podium ceremony.

Participants must register with a team name and captain, and each member must sign a liability waiver. If under 18, a parent must sign the waiver.

With stringent rules and a competitive atmosphere, the Lightning Ridge Relay promises a challenging day on the slopes of Powder Mountain for skiers and snowboarders alike.
