Craigleith Ski Club in Ontario, Canada, will host its first-ever FIS Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup event. Last season the Canadian ski resort hosted the FIS Ski Cross World Cup Finals on March 16-18, 2023. Next year, from February 15-16, 2024, the resort will host a double World Cup event, featuring both a parallel giant slalom and a parallel giant slalom team event. This marks a significant milestone for Craigleith, as it welcomes the Snowboard World Cup for the first time.
The private alpine ski resort is well known for its rich winter sports tradition and boasts an impressive array of facilities that make it an ideal venue for high-caliber sporting events. The resort, often referred to as ‘The Race Factory,’ has an alpine ski racing program with the largest participation in Canada, starting at U8 through U21. Craigleith also has park teams that compete against other private clubs in the area. Craigleith has been at the forefront of nurturing competitive skiing in Canada, hosting numerous events including the Podborski Cup SG race and the Nik Zoricic Cup, along with other Alpine Ontario and FIS-sanctioned racesโโโโ.
The private ski resort has around 3,000 members who can bring family and guests to ski at the resort. To join the ski club, you need two sponsors and pay aย joining fee of CAD 34,500 plus harmonized sales tax (โHSTโ) and annual levies. The resort is located about two-and-a-half hours from Toronto and situated at 771 feet and reaches a top elevation of 1,463 feet. The ski resort is equipped with five ski lifts, a surface lift, and 33 diverse trails, complemented by a challenging terrain park and an airbagโโ.
