275 days since the resort first opened for the season, Mammoth Mountain shut down its lifts on Closing Day, August 6, 2023. The California resort has appropriately published a season recap video on its social channels, documenting the insanity that took place last season and thanking everyone who worked so hard over the course of its historic winter.

By the numbers:

  • Most snowfall in Mammoth’s history with 715-905 Inches falling
  • Four consecutive months of 100+ inches of snowfall
  • Open for 275 days of skiing and snowboarding
  • Third time Mammoth has been open for skiing and riding into August, tied for the second latest closing day on record
