Red Bull Ultra Natural 2013 – Event Recap
Last year, Travis Rice’s Red Bull Supernatural (click there to watch it) was the most impressive event we’ve ever seen on snow. This year, for the Ultranatural, it looks like it was a big foggy, which isn’t as great for the film, and it wasn’t as deep and soft as last year, but these guy still might have gone even bigger than last year. And really, who are we kidding, this is still the most interesting and progressive thing we’ve seen in skiing or snowboarding. Making your own big mountain terrain features on a steep mountain in British Columbia? Genius.
New York – March 27, 2013 – Red Bull Ultra Natural, a backcountry snowboarding competition presented by Nike Snowboarding, features 16 of the world’s top riders as they drop into a steep, untouched mountain dotted with more than 80 features designed to showcase both the athletes’ big-mountain skills as well as their technical prowess. Ultra Natural, part of the Red Bull Signature Series, airs from Baldface Lodge just outside of Nelson, B.C., Canada, this Saturday, March 30 on NBC at 10:30 a.m. PT.
Be sure to record this or check it out live. Freeriding doesn’t get much network TV attention, this is about it for the year.
