A Colorado man spent a week in his RV precariously stuck above a 400-foot drop after driving his 38-foot vehicle, plus sedan towed behind, down a narrow and rugged track high in the San Juan Mountains near Durango, CO.

The man turned onto Lime Creek Road in the San Juan National Forest near Molas Pass and made it five miles before getting stuck, reports the Durango HeraldHe took a left turn too sharply, causing the road to give out beneath him, and his left rear wheels left the road.

There was no cell reception in the remote wilderness area, so the man decided to sit it out with his RV. Not trusting that the road would hold his vehicle, he slept under a tarp by its side. Finally, a week later, a passing mountain biker was able to raise the alarm.

A tow truck from nearby Silverton, CO, came to the rescue. Once free, and with cell service, the driver called his daughter to let her know he was ok.

  1. non si capisce bene dalla foto come fosse messo il camper ma non e’ detto che togliendo la macchina non avrebbe compromesso la stabilita del mezzo e la conseguente caduta nel dirupo.

  2. Now this may seem like a silly question, but.
Why didn’t he back his car off the dolly and drive out to where his phone would work and call someone?
