Thanks to a combination of natural and man-made snow, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Idaho is offering a “sneak peek” for passholders who are ready to hit the slopes.

“We picked up over 19” of snow last weekend which put us right where we needed to be to get Midway open. The one-two punch of our snowmaking efforts and Mother Nature’s contribution gives us enough coverage to give our passholders a chance for some early season turns this weekend.”

Due to covid, Schweitzer will be keeping with plans to limit the number of guests on the mountain therefore, day ticket sales will not be available. The resort plans to operate the Basin Express Chairlift for all 2020/21 season passholders, including Sunday-Friday passholders, from 9 am-3:30 pm, on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 with limited terrain and services available.

Schweitzer has received five inches of snow in the last three days, and 29″ already this winter.

“We know the important mental health benefit of getting outside and enjoying the mountain, but we ask that everyone continue to do their part to mitigate the spread of Covid. Face masks will be required in all of our indoor spaces and we encourage everyone to limit their time inside. We all want to go skiing this winter so let’s focus on what we can do now so we can continue to make turns all season long.”
