The first real winter storm that will actually leave snow in Lake Tahoe, CA hit last night. ย It dropped up to 12″ of snow on Donner Summit and as little as 1″ at Heavenly.
NOAA had issued a Winter Storm Advisory that expired at 10am this morning.
Sugar Bowlย and Boreal areย the winners of the snowfall totals at 9″ each. ย NOAA is reporting that Donner Summit got 12″ overnight.
Boreal, Squaw, Northstar, Heavenly, & Mt. Rose are open in Tahoe right now.
NOAA is talking about high elevation snow – snow levels 7,500 and higher –ย Tuesday and Wednesday with snow totals around 2+ feet.

PRECIP AMOUNTS ARE STILL UNCERTAIN, BUT 2+ INCHES OF WATER IS POSSIBLE NEAR THE SIERRA CREST WHICH WOULD BE AROUND 2 FEET OF SNOW WITH LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS FURTHER EAST AND DOWN TO 6500 FEET.
