The first real winter storm that will actually leave snow in Lake Tahoe, CA hit last night.  It dropped up to 12″ of snow on Donner Summit and as little as 1″ at Heavenly.

NOAA had issued a Winter Storm Advisory that expired at 10am this morning.

Sugar Bowl and Boreal are the winners of the snowfall totals at 9″ each.  NOAA is reporting that Donner Summit got 12″ overnight.

Boreal, Squaw, Northstar, Heavenly, & Mt. Rose are open in Tahoe right now.

NOAA is talking about high elevation snow – snow levels 7,500 and higher – Tuesday and Wednesday with snow totals around 2+ feet.

PRECIP AMOUNTS ARE STILL UNCERTAIN, BUT 2+ INCHES OF WATER IS
POSSIBLE NEAR THE SIERRA CREST WHICH WOULD BE AROUND 2 FEET OF SNOW
WITH LIGHTER ACCUMULATIONS FURTHER EAST AND DOWN TO 6500 FEET.
