At 11,053 feet, Mammoth Mountain boasts the highest summit of any California resort, making for deeper, better snow and beautiful vistas. With 3,500 skiable acres, 175 trails, an average of 400 inches of snowfall, 300 days of sunshine per year, and a season that typically stretches from November to June, Mammoth delivers big smiles on the slopes from first-timers to Olympians.

December has arrived, and the conditions are great, with an impressive base and sunny weather. Thanks to the snowiest November in over a decade with 62 inches of snow, Mammoth operates out of three base lodges, providing access to 17 lifts and over 170 trails. The skierโ€™s left side of Cornice Bowl has some nice chalky moguls, and if youโ€™re looking for some features in the park, head over to Forest Trail. 10 new features and a 15-foot jump have been added for the weekend.

Mammoth’s snowiest month was January of the 2016-17 season, with 245.5 inches of snow. The 2022-23 winter season was officially the snowiest season on record, with over 700 inches at Main Lodge and close to 900 inches at the summit. That year, Mammoth had four months in a row recording over 100 inches of snow totals.
