Last year, Squaw (KSL) and Aspen (Henry Crown Co) got together and bought up Intrawest and Mammoth along with all of their assets.

The end result was a new company that owns 12 ski resorts (Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Snowmass not included) and 1 major heli operation throughout 5 US states and 3 Canadian provinces.

Alterra will be offering a pass to rival Vail’s Epic Pass that will work across their 12 ski resorts but will exclude the Aspen resorts.

Alterra Mountain Company, headquartered in Denver, Colorado is comprised of 12 destinations, including the world’s largest heli-skiing operation. Alterra Mountain Company was created when affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, owners of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and Henry Crown and Company purchased Intrawest, Mammoth Resorts, and Deer Valley Resort in 2017.
