Dead Humpback Whale Washes Ashore at San Franciscoโ€™s Baker Beach

People at San Franciscoโ€™s Baker Beach were confronted with a stomach-turning sight on Tuesday when a dead humpback whale washed up on the shore. Beachgoers are being warned to stay away from the whaleโ€™s corpse, ABC 7 News reports.

On Tuesday, scientists with the Marine Mammal Center performed a partial necropsy on the female juvenile whale. Scientists say itโ€™s unknown at this time what led to the whaleโ€™s death but should have more information when the final necropsy report is completed, according to ABC 7 News.
