In a conversation a few years ago with Jeremy about his 2013 trip to the Himalayas, he told me that the โShangri-La Spinesโ were the longest spines heโs seen anywhere. He explained how in Alaska, the spines are great, but they are rarely longer than 800-1000 feet long. The snow wasnโt great on these Himalayan spines, but he said the thrill was.
In a more recent conversation for the SnowBrains podcast, the topic of these spines resurfaced. Definitley a must listen. But for now, just watch the video above. Insaneโฆ
Even high-level skiers and riders would be freaked out by spines like these just as Jeremyโs partner was. Jeremy said these were the longest spines heโs ever ridden. Theyโre 2,000 vertical feet long. His story about how it all went down is great.
โIโve never ridden something this steep, this big.โ โ Jeremy Jones
โHalfway down, it got a little bit steeper.โ โ Jeremy Jones
โThis was definitely the hardest thing Iโve ever done.โ โ Jeremy Jones
