Sun Peaks Resort, located outside Kamloops in central British Columbia, will be debuting a new lift for the winter 20/21 season.
The existing 1979 Crystal triple chairlift is being replaced with a brand new Doppelmayr fixed-grip quad chairlift. The lift project started after the 2019 season with general maintenance and infrastructure work, such as surveying the lift line and pouring foundations for the new towers. After the Covid-19 pandemic shortened the 2020 season, crews began clearing snow for the new chairlift and prepping the construction zone.

The new Crystal chairlift will start in roughly the same loading area as before, but the overall lift profile will be realigned. The new top station for the chairlift will unload next to the existing Burfield Quad chairlift at The Top of the World.
In their original master plan, the new Crystal chairlift called for a high-speed six-place chairlift. Along with the new Crystal chairlift, the Burfield Quad was due to be shortened to unload just above the current mid-unload station. No new master plan has been released, however, rumor has it a new one is currently in the works.
Sun Peaks is scheduled to open for the winter 20/21 season November 21, 2020, weather depending, and anticipate the new Crystal chairlift will be spinning on opening day.
