The Scandinavian rivalry is alive and well, with the Swedish Ski Resort Kläppen having beaten Levi and Ruka in Finland to the punch by opening today, October 5, 2023. The Swedish resort had been snowfarming snow from last season to be ready for the 23/24 season.

The section open consists of a snowpark only at this point and is serviced by one lift, which gives access to the Kläppen Snowpark every Thursday to Sunday for the next six weeks. The terrain park features three rail lines with different features, lengths, and difficulty levels, providing a fun and great training opportunity for the Swedish freeski and snowboard national team and all other freeski and snowboard enthusiasts.

Swedish Freeskier and two-time Olympian Oliwer Magnuson shared footage from the first day back on Swedish snow.
