Gear Review: Arc’teryx Cerium LT Hoody: Amazing Weight-to-Warmth Ratio

Cerlium LT Hoody

The 2020 Cerium LT Hoody by Arc’teryx is top of its class in terms of what gear you want to be wearing out in the mountains. The streamlined, lightweight, down hoody filled with 850 white goose down excels as a backcountry mid-layer or standalone jacket in cool, dry conditions. I was most impressed with the mid-layer’s warmth-to-weight ratio, along with […]

Arc’teryx followed suit and pulled out of the Outdoor Retailer Conference in Salt Lake City, just as Patagonia did earlier this week. These exits are the result of actions made by the Utah Governor to rescind the Bears Ears National Monument and other public lands. The company plans on donating the money it would have spent on the conference to […]

GEAR REVIEW: Arc’teryx Vertical SV Gloves

The Arc’teryx Vertical SV glove is the short cuff version of their big gauntlet glove, the Alpha SV. With a full leather palm, beefy fleece interior and a Gore-Tex membrane to keep you dry, these gloves just look burly. After wearing them on most of the colder, wetter days throughout a whole winter season, I can safely say, they stand up as well as most things Arc’teryx makes. They were bomber. At first glance, these gloves are a little strange and chunky looking. Thick, anatomically curved fingers gave me pause as to how they would perform doing anything that required a little dexterity. While they struggled with finer movements at first, […]

Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoodie REVIEW

Arc'teryx Atom LT hoodie review

I’ve spent a lot of time in the Arc’teryx Atom LT Hoodie. According to Arc’teryx, the Atom LT Hoodie is billed as an insulated, mid-layer hoody with wind and moisture resistant outer shell. Arc’teryx rarely disappoints but I was curious with this jacket. I got it as a kind of do everything piece, from riding on cold days to ski touring and even being manly around the house. But to be truthful, it felt almost too light […]
