No One Will Climb Everest This Year | The Last Team Pulls Out

For the first time in many years, it appears that no one will climb Mt. Everest this year. The last team that was holding out to climb Everest left the mountain today. New Zealander Russell Brice, owner of outfitter Himalayan Experience, the last team holding out to climb Everest, announced today that he’ll be leaving the mountain with his team.“Now having considered all facts, I can tell you that we will not be continuing any of our ascents in Nepal this season.” – Russell Brice

Video of the Massive Avalanche That Killed 15 People on Mt. Everest

Early yesterday morning an avalanche came down on a group of Sherpa on Mt. Everest at around 21,000 feet. They were ascending the mountain to set up fixed ropes for the climbers they were assisting. The avalanche was massive and it took the lives of 15 of the Sherpa. Some are still missing and some have been injured. This was the single worst tragedy in Mt. Everest climbing history.
