Utah’s Snow Cover: This Year Vs. Last Year

Nearly the entire state of Utah is covered in snow right now. Basically, the 4 corners region of Utah and the Salt Lake itself are the only regions that are snow free right now. It’s been a decent early season in Utah this year. The reason that Utah is covered in snow isn’t due to large snowfall amounts, it’s really been about the cold. The last storm to come through was damn cold and that cold storm left snow on top of nearly every square inch of Utah. Powder Magazine’s October 2013 issue comes out today. Sean Cochrane is on the cover ripping pow on a snow shed in B.C. To explain how they got the shot on the cover, Powder made this video.
