All 6 Dead In Medical Emergency Helicopter Crash In Central Italy

A medical emergency helicopter carrying six people crashed in a mountainous area of central Italy on Tuesday, causing the death of all six people abroad. Missing Skier Found Dead at Breckenridge Ski Resort, CO Yesterday

Sean Haberthier, who had been reported missing last Thursday, was found unresponsive by searchers Friday morning, and pronounced dead yesterday by authorities. The 47-years-old man died of a severe skull fracture after skiing into a tree. Summit County Coroner Regan Wood reported he was not wearing a helmet at the time. Apparently, the site of the accident was  the expert Lower Boneyard run off the Peak [โ€ฆ]

RIP Sam Jackenthal, 16-Year-Old Junior National Freestyle Ski Champion

Sam Jackenthal is a 16-year-old skier who suffered a traumatic brain injury at Perisher ski resort in Australia on September 8th, 2015. This past March Sam won the Overall Combined Menโ€™s First Place at USSA Junior Nationals due to his excellent placement in Slopestyle, Big Air and Half Pipe competitions. Two Killed as Fishing Boat Capsizes at Ocean Beach, California

Avalanche in Norway Kills Four Backcountry Skiers

Andreas Franssonโ€™s Extreme Skiing Partner Falls to Death in New Zealand on Saturday

Andreas Franssonโ€™s Swedish ski mountaineering partner, Magnus Kastengren, fell to his death on Saturday while extreme skiing on 12,316-foot Mt. Cook in New Zealand. 32-year-old Magnus was skiing on Mt. 4 Killed in Avalanche Near Mount Everest Yesterday

Chinaโ€™s state news agency, Xinhua, is reporting that a 60-year-old Australian and three Tibetan porters were killed by an avalanche near Mount Everest yesterday.  They were camping without permission in a restricted area at the base of Mount Everest when an avalanche struck their camp.  The avalanche was the result of a large snowstorm that had recently hit the area. Freeskier Jordi Tenas Dies in Avalanche in Las Leรฑas, Argentina | Friend Survives 15-Hrs Under Snow

I am very sad to report that 24-year-old Spanish freeskier Jordi Tenas has passed away in an avalanche in Las Leรฑas, Argentina.  Jordi has been a fixture in the Las Leรฑas community for the past handful of years and will be greatly missed.
