2 Fatal Avalanches in 3 Days in Nendaz, Switzerland

An avalanche on Monday morning killed a 28-year-old Dutch skier near the ski resort of Nendaz, Switzerland. Avalanche Kills 7 Climbers in French Alps

The Dome de Neige climbing route is exposed to avalanche danger at many points.

An avalanche killed seven climbers and injured one in the Pelvoux region of the French Alps today. This was the deadliest avalanche in the Alps this year. The avalanche happened at about noon local time on teh 13,000-foot Dome de Neige des Ecrins (snow dome of Ecrins). Avalanche Kills 1, Injures 2 on Mt. Moran, WY Yesterday

Sickle Couloir on Mt. Moran, WY.

One skier was killed and two others injured yesterday morning when an avalanche swept them down the very intense Sickle Couloir on Mount Moran in Wyoming. The avalanche reportedly swept the skiers 500-vertical-feet down the couloir over rock and ice. The man killed was Luke Lynch, a 38-year-old Jackson, WY resident. He was skiing the 3,100-foot-long, 45-degree Sickle Couloir on 12,605โ€ฒ Mt. Moran with three others at the time of the avalanche. โ€œThe group was ascending when a shallow wet slough avalanche released above them.โ€ โ€“ Jackie Skaggs, Grand Teton National Park spokeswoman [โ€ฆ]

5 Skiers Die, 1 Severely Injured in 2 French Avalanches Yesterday

3 people are confirmed dead and 7 are currently missing after an avalanche struck 10 hikers in the French Alps yesterday at 3pm. The avalanche occurred in Franceโ€™s Ecrins National Park near Pelvoux only 120 km north of the tragic Germanwings crash last week. The avalanche hit a group of 10 hikers and their guide. The one survivor is currently in the hospital in Grenoble in โ€œextremely serious condition.โ€ A large search party of 27 police officers with dogs as well as 30 firefighters is currently searching for the 7 missing [โ€ฆ]

15 Human Triggered Avalanches in 2 Days in Utah:
