A storm is currently hitting California that is forecast to have snow levels around 9,000-feet. Since Mammoth goes up to 11,000-feet they are getting some solid snow right now. Tioga and Sonora Passes just north of Mammoth are also above 9,000-feet and should be getting some snowfall today. Be careful if you’re headed over those passes today. These passes may close today. Spring Skiing with the Groms @ Mammoth A few weeks back in the early May, I packed the car full of gear, ipads, coloring books and snacks to take the kids on our annual Spring trip to Mammoth Mountain. In this crazy year of drought, Mammoth was the sole lift-served skiing left in California, so we had to get in those last groomer carves. To get to Mammoth, we took Sonora Pass (Hwy 108) which is an easy drive that provides epic visuals of nature.
