Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: Mini Powder Day Strength Training

The author feeling the burn on the Nubes chair at Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina today.

Today was the kind of day I’ve been waiting for. A day where the top chair, Nubes (2,000-vertical-feet), the best chair on the mountain, was open, running fast, and had a few inches of new snow. These are the days that make you better – that make you strong. We had about 2 inches of new, dense snow on top of a firm layer that kept you on your […]

Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: Bluebird Powder Day

miles clark track la laguna catedral ski resort, argentina, bariloche

First of all, I wanna give big props for Catedral ski resort opening the Nubes chair today. It’s been closed for about a week (essentially for the season) due to the trails accessing it having completely burned out. There was simply no snow left on the trails accessing the base of the Nubes chair. The recent storm dropped enough snow for the trails to be covered and groomed once more. Catedral was great and opened Nubes right away this morning by 10am. Thanks. Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina just experienced two days of big, late season snowfall. The storm completely closed the mountain down on Tuesday, we had a great […]

Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: Cliff-Hucking Good

Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina was closed yesterday due to high winds and a wet storm. Snow levels were high. It likely rained to the top yesterday. As the storm was ending, it got cold and dropped some good snow. This morning was bluebird. I ran straight up Nubes and found ok snow. It was very wind pressed and punchy and I nailed a rock on my first lap. As I was coming down Nubes they opened the chair. I stayed and got in 3 more runs before deciding to check out La Laguna. When I got to Laguna I realized that […]

2 Foot Powder Day in Bariloche, Argentina: As Good As It Gets

Today was a great day at Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina. The snow was about as good as it gets here. It snowed hard and blew hard yesterday leaving us with up to two feet of semi dense, wind-pressed snow. The kind of snow you can open it up in, but can still speed check in anytime. It was also good for hucking provided you had a steep landing. It didn’t give much on flat landings… I started the day with two laps on the mellow terrain Punta Nevada […]
