Temple Basin, NZ Conditions Report: Powder & Backflips Temple Basin has always been a place I have wanted to ski. Tales of long hikes and a rickety goods lift always left my mind sceptical about the idea venturing into the unknown. But news came Wednesday of a possible 80cm snowfall to the Craigieburn range and excitement led me to instantly book flights down to Christchurch […] Conditions Report Guest Author | September 2, 2015 2 Comments
VIDEO: Heli Skiing Portillo, Chile with Ian McIntosh in August We didn’t even know they had heli skiing in Portillo, Chile. Video Proof of the Insane Powder in Chile This August: This is the movie that won the Veho Film Festival in Chile this August. Chile had one helluva August with a monster storm coming in and dropping over 50″ in spots. These boys were poised and ready to get after all this pow and they did so on some pretty incredible terrain. These lines all look fun, inviting, and rippable – especially in the bright sunshine. La Parva, Chile Conditions Report: After 51″ of New Snow No new snow since the light snowfall yesterday, but the high clouds broke early, the sun finally came out, and the low clouds hovered menacingly at about the altitude of Farellones. All lifts opened except Nevada (broke motor), with Las Aguilas being the last to open due to avalanche control. The packed base is between 70cm and 120cm, and is fairly evenly distributed. Seems there were high winds and a couple of warm spells during the last couple days. The runs are now being […] Conditions Report Guest Author | August 9, 2015 0 Comments
Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: World Class Tree Skiing The world’s best tree skiing? Maybe. Certainly the best tree skiing I’ve ever experienced anywhere… Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina received 3+ feet of snow on the upper mountain over the weekend. Today was sunny and bright and was likely than any single day we had here last season. There was snow to the bottom of the mountain (which we never had last season) today which meant you could ski the incredible old growth Lenga tree forests on the lower mountain. These trees are large, very widely spaced Conditions Report Miles Clark | August 3, 2015 6 Comments

Catedral is reporting about a foot of snow in the past two days on the upper mountain. Last night’s cold sucked some of the moisture out of the old snow and a few new inches of snow had fallen since closing yesterday making […] Conditions Report Miles Clark | July 29, 2015 0 Comments
Mammoth, CA Weekend Powder Report: Last Saturday, was a powder day at Mammoth, CA. We watched it snow heavily on the mountain Friday evening on the webcams and knew that Saturday was going to be special. Before bed, we saw about 4″ of new snow on the patio furniture at mid-mountain. We got to Mammoth early on Saturday and grabbed first chair on Chair 23rd. We weren’t disappointed. The snow was 4-5″ deep and plastered on everything. You could go fast and arc huge turns down Chair 23. […] Conditions Report Miles Clark | May 26, 2015 1 Comment
