NOAA: Special Weather Statement for California Today | Snow Forecast Down to 6,500′

NOAA has issued a Special Weather Statment for California today that is calling for snow above 8.500′ today dropping to 6,500′ this evening and tomorrow morning. Tahoe and Mammoth have already gotten snow up high (see photos above). “Snow levels are expected to drop to around pass levels late this afternoon [7,200′], then drop further to around 6500 feet by Monday morning.” […]

NOAA’s Alaska branch just announced that they’re expecting the first accumulating snowfall for Alaska tomorrow and tomorrow night. 6+ Inches of Snow for Tahoe This Week and Sub-Zero Temps

Big changes are coming to Lake Tahoe this week. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be seeing over 6” of new snow in the high country and by Wednesday night we’ll be looking at below zero temperatures. That’s a big departure from the clear skies and 50 degrees temperatures we’ve been “enjoying”. NOAA has released a Special Weather Statement for Lake Tahoe for this week.
