Chile Surf & Culture Report: Barreling Waves & Penguins I spent the first two weeks of July surfing at Punta de Lobos, Chile. I surfed with two penguins on my second day. The water is crystal clear, cold (56ยบF), and full of waves. This may be one of the most consistent waves in the world since a large point to the south of the wave blocks the prevailing south winds. The only thing that ruins the wave here is a north wind, which we unfortunately got a healthy dose of this July. When I was here last October, the wave was great 20 out of 21 days. This month for me it was 50/50. […] Surf Miles Clark | July 18, 2015 0 Comments

Amongst conflicting reports, it appears that dos Santos, 24, was killed by an off-duty police officer at 8:40 am. One witness says dos Santos asked the officer and his brother to leave the beach outside his home, after spotting them using drugs and playing loud music. Another report says the altercation arose from a parked car on dos Santos’ property. Local police have taken two brothers , 25 and 17, into custody. The older of the two is reported to be the off-duty cop, and […] Industry News ameliatraynor | January 21, 2015 1 Comment
VIDEO: Surfing One Solid Wave in Lake Tahoe, CA Yesterday Yesterday, Lake Tahoe likely saw one of it’s best surfing days ever. Big rowdy surf and clean, calm surf dominated the North Shore. The waves picked up around 9am, got big around 10:30am, and stayed very surfable until around dusk. The peak was likely about 11am – 12pm with head high waves and glassy conditions in the right spots. The waves were certainly as good as ocean waves and 50-yard long rides were had. A few shredders were throwing cut-backs, roundhouses, and floaters. It was full on show in spots with […] Surf Miles Clark | December 12, 2014 1 Comment
Surfing Lake Tahoe Today | 6-Foot Stellar Waves | Photos & Video Lake Tahoe had it’s best surfing day in recent history. Surfing on the lake hasn’t been popular for that long. In it’s short history, today was the best day that anyone could remember. The waves were big, they had good shape, and they were peeling. 50-yard rides were had which is pretty ridiculous considering this is a lake with only 22 miles of fetch. People were surfing all over the North Shore. Some spots were overhead with ripping winds and rowdy rides. Some spots were smooth with peeling waves and moderate crowds. Wherever you were surfing today, I know you had fun. Today was […] Surf Miles Clark | December 11, 2014 4 Comments
