Vail, CO Is Attempting to Permanently Ban Marijuana Recreational marijuana is legal in Colorado. However, the town of Vail has put a temporary ban on marijuana sales in 2014. Vail is now trying to make that temporary ban permanent. On Tuesday night, the Vail Town Council will consider the first reading of a permanent ban on marijuana sales in Vail. That ban could be potentially overturned by the same town council in the future. Colorado passed Amendment 64 and legalized recreational marijuana in 2012.
