Biggest Wave Of The Year Ridden By Woman Was Controversial

The biggest wave surfed this year on the World Surfing League XXL Competition has been surfed by a woman. Maya Gabeira surfed a 73.5-foot wave on February 11 in Nazarรฉ, Portugal, winning the WSLโ€™s 2020 womenโ€™s XXL Biggest Wave Award. World Surf League Postpones/Cancels All Events Through July | Announces New โ€˜World Title Surf-Offโ€™ Format for 2021

Due to the continued evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Surf League (WSL) is postponing or canceling all events, at all levels of competition, through the end of June.
