It’s just fun to hear & see how rad people were getting on skis so long ago. A big air comp in the 1930s? Lithographs of bomb drops on skis in 1862? Corked out front flips in 1913?
Mike Douglas’ soliloquy in this video is stellar. The video edit after his rant is epic. This video makes me wanna get fired up, go ski, party, try a new trick, take a hard fall, and go partying…all at the same time.
To this day, this is still my favorite mini ski video. It makes you feel empowered, like it’s ok to be a skier. No offense at all to snowboarding. In fact, I think snowboarders can jump on this train as it’s really all the same.
I think what Warren Miller really says is true: “If you don’t do it this year, you’ll be one year older when you do.”
