It’s been a heck of a great snow year in the Northern Rockies this season. ย Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana are dominating this list right now. ย The Pacific Northwest usually dominates this list but this year, they only have one resort in the top 10. ย The other 9ย resorts are Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.
After looking at this list, you shouldn’t have any doubts as to where you should plan your ski trip this winter.
These numbers are taken from the ski resorts’ websites. ย We’re showing the upper mountain numbers only taken at 11:59pm on January 12th, 2015.
THE TOP 10 DEEPEST SNOWPACKS IN THE USA:

#5 = Mt. Bachelor, OR = 74″
#6 = Lookout Pass, ID = 72″
#7 = Sun Valley, ID = 71″

Sugar? On a list like this? Really? Any resort in the southeast seems impossible.
2 way tie at #7
I think Teton Village shows that 211″ of snow have fallen so far this season. How could that shrink to 75″ so quickly?
Lost Trail is only 45 minutes from home great snow never really long lines. Sun Vally is about 2 hours great place to live
Ha guys Kelly just drove their snow stake in the ground!!
Mt bohemia 130+ inches fallen this season. Idk what their snowpack is though.
no way does Kelly canyon have that base!
I love by Kelly canyon and there is no way there is 96″ up guaranteed. You should probably get the facts straight.
Hey Jason, thanks for the note. It’s what they’re reporting on their website for their summit depth. thanks.
What’s #10?
The #1 claim at Kelly canyon is a lie. Granted they have good snow and coverage for this time of year but the reality is that their snow depth is probably at or under 30″ total depth right now. Total snow fall is probly around 40 something inches. Just figured you might want the truth.
Anybody have a ticket to SLC and a time machine?
snowbird had 160″ in January 1993
Alta: 78″
Snowbird: 77″
Wild Mountain, MN: 75″
Sugar Mountain, NC: 79″
no way on earth sugar mtn has a 79″ base
