Rankings are always exciting to see because humans love to rank things but we also know rankings are very subjective. There are tons of factors when comparing resorts such as their size, annual snowfall, vertical, etc. and everyone has a different opinion on qualitative factors or how to weigh the quantitative ones.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to how consumers can vote, and for many people, there is a bias of who is aware of these rankings each year. Anyone who reads this list will probably have a different opinion, but all of these resorts do have an argument to be on it. The following ranking is according to USAToday readers.

#9 Cannon Mountain, NH

Arguably the most popular mountain in New Hampshire, Cannon Mountain has 282 skiable acres, 2,180 feet of vertical, and 160 inches of average snowfall.

It’s always exciting to see smaller players ranked so high such as Mount Bohemia, Lutsen Mountains or Cannon Mountain. Hopefully rankings like this on such big platforms will help drive people towards local mountains and more unique places than the standard go-to Colorado ski trip for most of the US.

There are many other places out there, some quite a bit harder to get to but the extra effort is worth it. Places like Mount Bohemia have their special charm and deserve to be recognized on a national scale.
