This weekend was a bit of a wild one for figuring out who will be open on Saturday and Sunday…ย Last weekend, Killington VT, Sunday River ME, and Mont Saint-Sauveur Quebec were the only ski resorts open in North America.ย This weekend, none of them are open.
Sunday River announced on Friday morning that they would let us know on Friday evening if they’d be open on Saturday, then on Friday evening they said they would be open on Saturday (even announcing free tickets to costumed skiers and rider), then on Saturday morning they were closed…
Loveland and Arapahoe Basin opened up for daily operation last Thursday with A-Basin announcing their opening day for Thursday last minute on Wednesday.
Then…ย Wolf Creek very slyly announced they’d open Today, late yesterday, but only announced it covertly on their website and did not spread the word at all.ย They definitely kept crowds down by doing this and we assume that was their intention.
So, we have 3 ski resorts open in North America this weekend.ย Loveland & A-Bay will stay open daily until May or later, but Wolf Creek will only be open weekends for now.
SKI RESORTS OPEN IN NORTH AMERICA THIS WEEKEND:
LOVELAND, CO:
- Lift 1 open accessing the Home Run.ย
ARAPHHOE BASIN, CO:
- Black Mountain Express open accessing High Noon trail.
WOLF CREEK, CO:
- Nova Lift open accessing Nova & Sunsan’s trails.
Wow… if ski hills around here opened with those conditions we’d be riding lifts 9 months of the year!
