New in Events:

The Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup is back again for a second year as a stop on the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Tour. The event returns February 23-25, 2024, and guarantees a celebration of sportsmanship, skill, and resilience, further solidifying the resort’s commitment to fostering excellence in winter sports. In addition to the Giant Slalom and Slalom races, there will be a youth parade, bib draw, and live music along with other vibrant festivities throughout the weekend.

New on Mountain:

After a remarkable 25 years of operation, Palisades Tahoe has replaced the Funitel Haul Rope with a new galvanized rope that spans almost seven miles. This upgrade follows last year’s successful additions of the Base to Base Gondola and the high-speed six-pack Red Dog lift.

In a commitment to high quality snow surfaces, the resort has increased its snow-making capabilities by installing five new snow-making machines on the Palisades side near the Exhibition lift. On the Alpine side, the resort has also upgraded its snowmaking infrastructure by adding 2,000 feet of new snowmaking lines. These strategic enhancements improve efficiency and allow the team to open up terrain earlier in the season. This is particularly valuable for ensuring ample skiing and boarding opportunities during years with limited natural snowfall.

Palisades Tahoe has also expanded its snowcat fleet by adding five new snowcats and installing four new winch picks across the mountain. These innovations ensure top-notch grooming quality on steeper slopes, making advanced terrain more accessible and boosting the confidence of intermediate skiers. Additionally, the use of winch picks  improves efficiency by reducing the need for multiple snowcats and saving time, fuel, and operational costs.

New in Transportation:

For the 23/24 winter season, the operating schedule of the Mountaineer is expanding. Daily service in Olympic Valley and between the two valleys will be extended by 30 minutes until 11 pm. In Alpine Meadows, operations are adding an extra day and another hour of service, offering service five days a week (Thursday-Monday) until 6 pm. These service expansions provide residents and visitors with more flexibility and convenience.

The resort is also actively working on a traffic and parking solution set to be revealed this fall, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and parking challenges, ensuring a smoother experience for guests, employees, and the community.

New in the Palisades Tahoe App:

New this year, the Palisades Tahoe App will have an all-new user experience that is designed to enhance the on-mountain experience. The “Palisades Today” dashboard will give users a glimpse into that day’s events, deals, and offerings to make the most of their resort experience.

Skiing and snowboarding is now more rewarding than ever with the Palisades Tahoe app. Users can track their days on the mountain and be rewarded for each achievement through the resort’s Legendary Rewards loyalty program. Users simply track their days and performance on the slopes to qualify for rewards like discounted ski tuning or a complimentary lunch.

As a resort renowned for its vast and diverse terrain spread across two mountains with 6,000 skiable acres, it’s important to know where to go. A new navigation tool within the app will allow users to easily identify terrain that aligns with their ability level and receive step-by-step guidance on how to reach those areas at the resort.

New in Mountain Sports School:

Ikon pass holders will now receive a 20% discount on all regular-priced group lesson products, applicable to both adults and kids aged 3 and above (excluding specialty clinics or camps). All Mountain Experience Clinics and Camps have undergone a revamp to cater to advanced skiers and intermediates. Join in for two camps in January and March, along with a series of one-day clinics designed to enhance off-piste skiing skills.
